Michigan State will play its sixth game of the season on Saturday. Yet there’s little clarity when it comes to the future of the team’s quarterback position.
The Spartans listed Tyler O’Connor OR Damion Terry OR Brian Lewerke as the starter for Saturday’s home game against Northwestern, which is also 2-3, on Tuesday’s depth chart.
Land of 10 asked readers to vote for their starting quarterback choice. Lewerke was the winner in a close vote, with Terry finishing second.
Here are the three quarterbacks’ stats from this season:
- Senior Tyler O’Connor: 78-for-128 passing for 976 yards, 8 TDs, 5 INT
- Junior Damion Terry: 6-for-10 passing for 63 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT
- Redshirt freshman Brian Lewerke: 2-for-4 passing for 26 yards, 0 TD, 0 INT
On Sunday, Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio said there has been no decision about whether O’Connor or Terry would start against the Wildcats.
Dantonio on QB situation: "We're going to make the best decision to win now. Not win for 2017, to win now." #MichiganState
