Former Michigan State linebacker Darien Harris is finding his own way to honor his fallen teammates.
The 2015 product hasn’t seen any NFL luck, but he will be memorializing Mike Sadler and Mylan Hicks in the Canadian Football League with his jersey number selection for the Ottawa Redblacks, according to the Ottawa Sun.
Harris will wear No. 36, combining Sadler’s No. 3 and Hicks’ No. 6.
“We lost two incredible young men too early,” Harris told the Sun. “It hits home. You can’t take life for granted. Live each day to its fullest.
“Both of those guys were extremely special to me. I’m glad I can represent them with these numbers and hopefully make them proud from up above.”
Harris, meanwhile, is working back from a hamstring injury and trying to earn a spot with the Redblacks.
