Another piece of Michigan State’s 2017-18 basketball schedule has fallen into place.
The Spartans will host Long Beach State in the upcoming season, according to a report from CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein.

Just as with last season, the Spartans will have some marquee matchups during the nonconference season, including a showdown against Duke in Chicago during the Champions Classic.
At least one early ranking listed Michigan State as the preseason No. 1 in the 2017-18 season, thanks to a bevy of returning talent and a strong recruiting class. The Spartans are hoping to avoid the growing pains of last season’s nonconference slate, when the young team got off to a 4-4 start.
Long Beach State, under former Minnesota coach Dan Monson, finished 15-19 last season. No date for the 2017-18 contest has been set.
