Xavier Tillman committed to Michigan State in September. But it’s not the biggest decision the high school senior has made in the last year.
Tillman, a 4-star power forward in Michigan State’s 2017 basketball recruiting class, got engaged to his girlfriend over the weekend. In an Instagram post, he called it part of “the best week of his life.”
This was by far the best week of my life. First my mom buys me a new car , then I get engaged, then their was my open house where I got to see my family and friends then My family ( Tamia, Yanni, and I ) got a wonderful prayer over us from our whole church and they asked the Lord to keep us safe as we leave for East Lansing. All in all I'm so happy right now😍😊 I love everyone so much I hope y'all have a great week🤘🏾💍❤
Tillman (6-foot-8, 270 pounds) is wrapping up his senior year at Grand Rapids Christian in Grand Rapids, Mich. He’s the top-rated basketball recruit from Michigan in the 2017 class and the No. 87 overall recruit in the class.
Tillman and 5-star forward Jaren Jackson currently make up the Spartans’ 2017 class, and they’ll be joining a roster loaded with talent in the 2017-18 season.
