Michigan State had a bye week following its 28-13 win over Furman to open the season but the Spartans return this week in prime time to renew their rivalry with Notre Dame.
The last time the teams met for the Megaphone Trophy was in 2013, when Notre Dame won 17-13 in South Bend. The Irish have won three straight in the series. Michigan State hasn’t lost four in a row to Notre Dame since dropping eight straight from 1987-94.
Michigan State is ranked No. 12 in the AP Top 25 poll, while Notre Dame (1-1) is No. 18.
