Michigan State agrees to 1 Friday night home game per year as long it’s during Labor Day weekend
Of all the teams to feel most familiar with a Friday night game, it’s Michigan State.
Since 2011, the Spartans have been the home team for five Friday night games on Labor Day weekend.
So, in response to the Big Ten’s Wednesday announcement to expand its Friday night schedules, the Spartans released a statement.
“Michigan State has agreed to host one Friday night home game per year provided its over Labor Day weekend,” the team’s Twitter account said Wednesday.

It’s necessary to note that Michigan State doesn’t have a game scheduled for Labor Day weekend next season, when the Big Ten is set to begin its expanded Friday schedule. The Spartans open the season Sept. 9 at home against Bowling Green.
