Michigan’s Outback Bowl loss to South Carolina cost the Big Ten a perfect bowl season. But that doesn’t mean everyone with the Big Ten is disappointed.
Far from it.
Michigan State linebacker Chris Frey had a simple yet hilarious reaction to the Wolverines blowing a 16-point lead to the Gamecocks. It included a GIF of teammate Justin Layne doing a choke gesture during the 14-10 win against Michigan from this season.
“7-1 #CHOKE,” Frey tweeted.

Frey finished the season with 55 total tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and 4 sacks, helping the Spartans to finish 10-3 with a Holiday Bowl rout of Washington State.
As for the choke gesture, in the days after the gesture found its way to the internet, Layne expressed surprise it caught on.
“I was like, ‘How’d they catch that?’ ” Layne said days after Michigan State beat Michigan in October. “It happened in the background. I didn’t expect them to catch that.
“My phone has been crazy about that. I didn’t think it was gonna be that big.”
