This week just keeps getting better and better for Michigan State football.
The Spartans have now landed five recruits in the last two days and six total this week, as 3-star defensive end Michael Fletcher verbally committed to Michigan State on Friday evening. Fletcher announced his commitment to the Spartans from his school, Carman-Ainsworth High School in Flint, Mich.

Shortly after announcing his commitment to Michigan State, Fletcher shared the news on his Twitter account.

“Thank you God for putting me in this position! I’m very humbled to be blessed and highly favored,” Fletcher wrote on Twitter. “Thank you to everyone who has helped me get to where I’m at. Me and my family talked and [they] have supported me [throughout] this whole decision. After long nights and prayer, I’ve come to a decision. Very excited to announce my commitment to MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY.”
The 6-foot-5, 240-pound Fletcher received offers from some of the most elite schools in college football, such as Alabama, Georgia, Wisconsin and Michigan. He also received offers from Purdue, Minnesota, Iowa and Iowa State, among others.
Fletcher is the No. 11-ranked prospect out of Michigan in the Class of 2019, the No. 25-ranked strongside defensive end and the No. 394-ranked overall player, according to 247Sports 2019 composite rankings.
With Fletcher’s commitment, Michigan State’s Class of 2019 currently ranks No. 17 in the nation and No. 3 in the Big Ten.
