Who knows the strength of a football team and its coaches better than Las Vegas?
Oddsmaker Chris Andrews, a 30-plus-year industry veteran running the South Point Race and Sports Book now, has high praise for Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio, according to Marcus DiNitto of Omni Sport US.
Andrews said Dantonio is “right up there” with Urban Meyer and Nick Saban, widely considered the two best coaches in college football.

Dantonio is 89–33 overall and 52–20 in Big Ten play in 9-plus years at Michigan State. He’s won 11 games in five of the last six seasons. He’s 65-53-3 against the point spread as the Spartans coach, which is the 12th-best percentage for any team since he was hired in 2007.
Dantonio has also won the big ones. He’s 7-2 against Michigan overall and despite a 3-5 mark against Ohio State, he’s won three of the last five in that matchup. Dantonio has three Big Ten titles to his name (2010, 2013 and 2015) and has twice been the conference’s coach of the year (2010, 2013).
