The early signing period for 2018 recruits has hardly passed us by, and Michigan State has already added two more pieces to next year’s class.
Morgan County (Ga.) athlete Jordan Huff announced his commitment to the Spartans late on Christmas Day, giving them their fourth 2019 pledge and second in four days. He becomes Michigan State’s first out-of-state commit in the junior class, as well.

“It’s just the best place I’ve been,” Huff told Land of 10. “The atmosphere and the coaches and everything just fit me. Whenever I’d go to another school, my dad and I would always compare that to Michigan State. It was always just the school I liked.”
Huff’s commitment catapults Michigan State’s 2019 class to the No. 11 spot, No. 3 in the Big Ten, per the 247Sports composite rankings. The 3-star prospect has been recruited primarily as a defensive back.
He joins 4-star prospects Spencer Brown, Dwan Mathis and Julian Barnett in committing to Michigan State. Barnett announced his decision on Friday.
Huff held additional offers from Iowa State, Mississippi State and Ole Miss, among others. He has visited Michigan State twice and recently received a visit from Spartans co-offensive coordinator Jim Bollman at one of his basketball games.
The 6-foot-2, 185-pound junior ranks 42nd nationally among 2019 athletes and 48th among juniors in Georgia.
