A former Spartan found a new home in the NFL on Tuesday.
The 49ers reportedly signed wide receiver Keshawn Martin to a two-year deal. Martin was cut by the Patriots earlier in the month.

Martin was a fourth-round pick of Houston in the 2012 NFL Draft. He left Michigan State after totaling 1,714 yards on 127 catches in four seasons.
In the NFL, Martin has been used as a return man and a receiver. The 5-foot-10 Martin has 94 career punt returns and another 78 kick returns in four seasons and took a punt back for a touchdown in 2013 for the Texans.
He also 62 career receptions for 685 yards and five touchdowns. Martin spent his first three seasons with Houston last season before going to New England in 2015.
Martin joins a 49ers team coached by Chip Kelly that is looking for more playmakers in the passing game.
