Davis missed all of last season with a torn ACL and had to apply for a sixth year of eligibility, a process that was lengthy. The Spartans were hoping to hear before their season started last week against Furman, but they’ll be happy to have him back before meeting Notre Dame next weekend.
Davis was a large part of Michigan State’s defense during his junior year in 2014. Two years ago, the Detroit native recorded 12 tackles for loss and seven sacks.
