The Opening is Nike’s premier summer camp that features more than 160 of the top prospects in the nation in Beaverton, Ore.
Reid chose Michigan State over Big Ten rival Michigan, as well as Florida, Pittsburgh and Tennessee. The Gators appeared to be the favorites in April, when Reid released his top five list. The Spartans made a late surge and were able to persuade Reid during the summer.
Reid is rated as the No. 15 offensive guard in the country and the No. 11 player in the state of Michigan.
His commitment gives Michigan State 15 commitments in its 2017 class, which currently ranks 21st in the country and seventh in the Big Ten.
