Former Michigan State star Denzel Valentine was listed as one of the top contenders to win the NBA’s Rookie of the Year award by Bovada.
Valentine, who was drafted 14th overall by the Chicago Bulls, was given 12/1 odds to win the award. He had the sixth-best odds among incoming rookies. Former LSU star Ben Simmons, who is now with the Philadelphia 76ers, was listed as the favorite at 13/4 odds.
Valentine wasn’t the only Big Ten player featured on the list. Michigan guard Caris LeVert was tabbed as a longshot with 20/1 odds. LeVert was surprisingly taken in the first round by the Indiana Pacers despite playing in only 15 games during his final season with the Wolverines after sustaining a foot injury.
