Non-conference play has – for the most part – come to a close and the real Big Ten football season is about to get underway.
And the conference’s television network is acting accordingly.
After a record-breaking weekend to close out three weeks of non-conference broadcasts, The Big Ten Network is set to debut its “BTN Tailgate” show ahead of the first ever matchup between two Top 15 teams in Big Ten Network history.
The 90-minute show will start at 10:30 a.m. EST and will be broadcast live from Munn Field in East Lansing before the No. 8 Michigan State Spartans play host to No. 11 Wisconsin.
And, of course, there will be a Tom Izzo appearance. The longtime Spartans basketball coach will be joined by athletic director Mark Hollis, “as well as potential appearances from Spartan greats,” according to a press release.
“In addition to free food and MSU branded giveaways in week one (while supplies last), there will also be a wide variety of sponsor activation to entertain the crowd presented by TIAA, U.S. Cellular, GEICO and Slim Jim,” according to the release. “Alongside host Dave Revsine, BTN football experts Gerry DiNardo and former Chicago Bears defensive tackle Anthony “Spice” Adams will go in-depth on Big Ten matchups.”
The Spartans and Badgers kick off a BTN triple-header at noon. Indiana hosts Wake Forest at 3:30 p.m. and No. 20 Nebraska plays at Northwestern at 7:30.
