Maryland and Michigan State were tied at 60 with about 5 seconds to play Saturday in College Park. That’s when Terrapins guard Melo Trimble took the inbound pass and did this:

After Trimble’s shot, referees deliberated briefly on how much time should be on the clock, eventually awarding the Spartans 1.1 seconds. But Michigan State could not pull of a miracle, and Maryland improved to 24-7 overall and 12-6 in the Big Ten.
With Saturday’s win, the Terrapins clinched a double-bye in the conference tournament.
Trimble scored 16 points in the game, just under his average of 16.9 per contest. He leads the Terrapins this season in points, assists and minutes.
And he’s been super clutch.
That's the fifth time this season that Melo Trimble has scored the game-winning points in the final 30 seconds.
