Maryland’s already impressive 2017 class got even better on the morning of National Signing Day.
Tahj Capehart, a 3-star wide receiver, flipped his commitment Wednesday from Virginia Tech to Maryland. Capehart took an official visit to Maryland over the weekend and announced his decision before 8 a.m. ET on signing day.

Capehart (5-foot-10, 178 pounds) is rated as the No. 48 wideout in the 2017 class, and the Virginia Beach, Va. native is the No. 15 recruit in his state, according to 247Sports.
With Capehart’s pledge, D.J. Durkin’s 2017 class was rated 17th nationally and fourth in the Big Ten, just behind Penn State. Capehart is the 29th commit in the Terps’ class and the sixth wide receiver.
