Maryland guard Kevin Huerter was the No. 19 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft Thursday night, joining the Atlanta Hawks.
Huerter followed up his promising freshman season in College Park by averaging 14.8 points and 5 rebounds per game as a sophomore in 2017-18.
Huerter has a strong presence on the offensive side of the floor and he looks to be a key figure in the Hawks’ rebuild. The Hawks also acquired Oklahoma freshman guard Trae Young in a draft-night trade with Dallas earlier in the evening.
