Maryland CB Will Likely has a torn ACL and will miss the rest of the season, the school announced Friday.
The senior’s college career, which included 229 tackles and seven interceptions, is over.

Likely suffered the injury last week in the second quarter of the loss to Minnesota.
The cornerback could have been a high pick in the NFL draft in April but chose to return to College Park to complete his degree and finish his college eligibility.
Though Likely’s primary contributions to the Terrapins came on defense, he also contributed on special teams and offense. Over his Maryland career, Likely had six return touchdowns and more than 3,000 yards total on punt and kick returns. He also had six career receptions, though only one this year.
The Maryland secondary was already thin with senior S Denzel Conyers out for the season. True freshman Elijah Daniels figures to start at cornerback in place of Likely.
