Jordan Mosley became the 19th member of Maryland football’s 2018 recruiting class on Monday.

Mosley is a 3-star recruit on the 247Sports Composite, which has him as the No. 83 linebacker in the Class of 2018. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound linebacker from Havertown is the first recruit from Pennsylvania is Maryland’s first commit from the state in this recruiting cycle. The Terps landed CB Kenny Bennett from Pennsylvania in 2017, along with junior college recruit Alex Woods.
He also had offers from Minnesota, Rutgers, Connecticut and Massachusetts, among others. Mosley did not have offers from in-state programs Penn State, Pitt and Temple.
He’ll join a position that’s largely up in the air after this season. Jermaine Carter Jr. is entrenched as a starter for 2017 but will have exhausted his eligibility after then, and it’s unclear who will be starting next to him even before he leaves. Maryland only starts two linebackers, and Isaiah Davis seems primed to take one spot. Sophomore Antoine Brooks, incoming junior college recruit Nick Underwood and freshman Ayinde Eley could all be candidates as well, but Mosley will have opportunities once he gets to school.
