On Thursday, Maryland added to its 2018 class with a verbal commitment from Jalen Alexander.
Alexander, rated by 247Sports as a 3-star prospect, is the No. 141-ranked defensive tackle in his class. The 6-foot-4, 288-pounder from Chesapeake, Va announced his commitment on Twitter after making the decision at his high school.

Outside of Rutgers and Purdue in the Big Ten, other schools offered Alexander a scholarship, including Auburn, Georgia and Oklahoma, among others.
Alexander is the Terrapins’ 21st commit within the 2018 class and is the second defensive tackle to make the pledge. Maryland currently owns the No. 4-ranked class in the Big Ten.
