Iowa football’s 2018 recruiting class shrank by one on Tuesday.
Mike Bruner, rated a 3-star outside linebacker by 247Sports, announced via Twitter that he has de-committed from the Hawkeyes. The Thiensville (Wis.) Homestead High prospect said he made his decision too early in the recruiting process.

Bruner’s de-commitment leaves coach Kirk Ferentz with only three commitments in this current cycle. The Hawkeyes, however, do have another outside linebacker commit in fellow 3-star prospect Dillon Doyle.
Iowa offered Bruner a scholarship on July 30 of last year. He visited the campus on Sept. 10 and committed to the Hawkeyes on Oct. 23.
According to 247Sports, Bruner is the No. 9 prospect in Wisconsin and No. 73 outside linebacker in his class. Bruner also holds a scholarship offers from Iowa State.
