Sports personality Colin Cowherd really got into Iowa for its scheduling and loss to North Dakota State.
After rattling off how Top-25 programs Ohio State, Michigan, Alabama and others routinely schedule tough non-conference games, Cowherd went into a rant about the Hawkeyes’ scheduling.
“They’re posers,” Cowherd said. “They want to gain status, popularity, bowl games and access and they don’t want to earn it.”
Cowherd continued to rip Iowa, saying the loss proves the Hawkeyes are posers and then getting into a metaphor involving a fake ID. He said the loss was “perfect,” meaning he thinks Iowa tried to hide behind a schedule and still got exposed.
“[Iowa] not only got carded by the bouncer, but the bouncer took their ID, put it on the wall inside the club so all the other bouncers knew: Poser. Then the girlfriend of Iowa was so upset, she came back to the club later, the bouncer let her in and she left with another guy. It was perfect.”

North Dakota State is a Football Championship Subdivision team, but the team’s success is well documented. The Bison have won the FCS national title for five seasons in a row and picked up 74 votes in the new AP Poll.
Iowa plays rival Iowa State every year, so that joined with a current 9-game conference slate will make it difficult for the Hawkeyes to schedule tough non-conference foes.
