Iowa men’s basketball has a rich tradition with 25 NCAA Tournament appearances, eight Sweet 16s and three Final Fours. The Hawkeyes have produced dozens of elite players who have played professionally, earned All-Big Ten honors and remain icons throughout the state for generations.
Throughout March, Landof10.com will host daily polls designed for fans to vote for the best players in Iowa basketball history. The first 16 days will consist of four players in 16 different pods (64 total players). From March 17-24, each pod’s top two players receiving votes will advance to knockout-style voting condensed to eight pods consisting of 32 players. From March 25-28, the eight pod winners will compete in four head-to-head matchups. On March 29-30, the top four players face off in head-to-head competition. The final vote between the top two players will be held March 31.

PG B.J. ARMSTRONG — Scored 1,705 points from 1985-89, fifth in Iowa history. Led Iowa in assists for three seasons. Ranks fifth for career assists, sixth in steals. Led team in scoring in 1987-88 season. Guided Iowa to four NCAA Tournament appearances, including two Sweet 16s and one Elite Eight. His No. 10 jersey is retired.
C KEVIN KUNNERT — Scored 1,145 points in three seasons (1970-73) to rank tied for 30th. Highest per-game rebounding average in Iowa history at 12.7. Ranks second in career rebounds with 914. Boasts two highest seasons of rebounds per game (14.7 in 1971-72, 13.9 in 1972-73). Most career double-doubles with 48. Led team in rebounding all three seasons. Averaged 19.2 points, 13.9 rebounds per game in 1972-73 to earn All-American honors.
C ADAM WOODBURY — Owns school record for most career starts with 137. Led team and Big Ten in rebounding in 2015-16 with 8.3. Most underrated interior defender in school history.
F GLEN WORLEY — Scored 1,060 points from 2000-04 to rank 41st in Iowa history. Averaged 8.4 points and 4.4 rebounds a game.
