IOWA CITY, Iowa — Iowa’s 23-21 upset loss to five-time FCS champion North Dakota State proved costly at the polls Sunday morning.
A week after falling one spot in the USA Today Coaches poll after a win, Iowa was sent spiraling downward, clocking in at No. 25. Iowa opened the season at No. 15, moved up to 10th after a season-opening win against Miami of Ohio then fell a spot after pounding Iowa State.
Iowa also fell dramatically in the Associated Press poll. Iowa dropped about, falling from 13th last week. The Hawkeyes opened the season 17th and were ranked 16th after a season-opening win.
The loss ended Iowa’s 14-game regular-season winning streak.
