Iowa’s 2018 recruiting class now sits at six players — and two of them are from the same high school.
Samson Evans, a 247Sports 3-star athlete from Crystal Lake, Ill., announced his commitment to Iowa on Sunday afternoon via Twitter.

The 5-foot-11.5, 200-pound Evans also had interest from Minnesota and Illinois, but chose the Hawkeyes. He’s joining a 2018 Iowa class that also features a verbal commitment from 3-star offensive guard Jeffrey Jenkins, a teammate of Evans’ at Prairie Ridge.
Evans is the sixth overall commit in Iowa’s 2018 class, which was ranked 48th in the country and 10th in the Big Ten before his pledge. Evans plays quarterback in a triple-option system in high school, which could translate into skills as a college running back.
