Iowa’s Josh Jackson’s late-game interception to seal the 27-20 win against Boston College in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl on Wednesday night was meaningful in more ways than just the victory.
The pick — Jackson’s eighth of the season — tied him with Nile Kinnick, Desmond King and Lou King for the Iowa single-season interception record.

He also became the FBS leader in interceptions this season, breaking a three-way tie he shared with Lukas Denis — who plays for Boston College of all teams — and Florida Atlantic’s Jalen Young. The Owls’ season is over; they beat Akron in the Boca Raton Bowl on Dec. 19.
Barring some big days for DBs around the country, Jackson should finish the season as the national leader in picks.
