The Hawkeyes offense just deeper in the class of 2018.
Iowa got its fourth commitment in the class in Tyrone Tracy Jr., a 3-star running back from Indianapolis Decatur Central. He chose Iowa over Northwestern and Louisville.
Tracy Jr. announced his commitment via a YouTube video Saturday night, in which he takes off a shirt to reveal an Iowa shirt.
According to 247Sports, the 5-foot-10, 183-pound Tracy Jr. is the eighth-best prospect in the state of Indiana, and the 38th-best running back prospect in the nation. He was offered by the Hawkeyes in October 2016 and visited them twice unofficially.
Tracy’s commitment comes amidst the de-commitment of linebacker Mike Bruner. Tracy is the second running back to commit to Iowa in the last week as 3-star RB Henry Geil committed to the Hawkeyes last Sunday.
Aside from his final three of Iowa, Louisville and Northwestern, Tracy Jr. also fielded offers from Illinois, Western Michigan, Maryland and Penn State.
Tracy Jr. and Geil will join fellow 3-star Iowa commits linebacker Dillion Doyle and guard Jeffery Jenkins as the four commits in the Hawkeyes’ class of 2018.
