Fulfilling his destiny

Spencer Petras is a quarterback. He always knew it. A broken arm and three other quarterbacks in his high school class weren’t to stop him from fulfilling his destiny. Here is Land of 10’s Next Generation feature on the Class of 2018 quarterback.

Hitting the weight room

The Hawkeyes updated the roster for spring football. A few players packed on the pounds, but, as Rivals Blair Sanderson points out, no one gained more weight than center Levi Duwa, who needed to match up with Big Ten defensive tackles.

Eye on the future — and the Lone Star State

Iowa is making a recruiting push into Texas. Class of 2020 running back Jaden Hullaby has caught the Hawkeyes attention. He discusses a visit to Iowa and his connection with running backs coach Derrick Foster in this story from HawkeyeNation.com’s Rob Howe.

What are the odds?

Spencer Lee just won his first wrestling national title. Can he win four? Land of 10 tries to figure it out.

Make it count

Spring practice is an important time for all the Hawkeyes. Here are five juniors in need of an impressive spring to help secure playing time. If two of these names play well, linebacker won’t be as big of an issue in April as it is now.

Teaming

Iowa men’s basketball commit Patrick McCaffery is switching AAU teams. He’ll play for D1 Minnesota. It will give him a chance to play with another Iowa recruiting target, Class of 2019 point guard Tyrell Terry. Howe spoke with Terry about the chance to play with McCaffery this summer.

Catching up

Jarrod Uthoff is chasing his NBA dreams with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants of the G-League. The Cedar Rapids Gazette’s Stephen Hunt checks in to see how things are going for Uthoff.
