IOWA CITY, Iowa — Iowa football hosted 13 recruits for a junior day on Saturday and the festivities included taking in the men’s basketball game against Indiana.
This was the first of multiple junior days for members of the 2019-21 classes. The biggest names in attendance were in-state prospects Jack Campbell and Mosai Newsome. Each is a key target for Iowa in the Class of 2019.
Campbell is a 3-star prospect from Cedar Falls, Iowa and is expected to choose between Iowa, Iowa State and Minnesota during the spring or summer.
Newsome is a 3-star prospect from Waverly-Shell Rock High School (Iowa). He is an athletic 6-foot-3, 252-pound defensive end and also holds an offer from Minnesota.
The Hawkeyes’ top-rated 2019 commit, 4-star offensive lineman Ezra Miller, is also taking in the junior day and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he does a little recruiting to try to help Iowa with the uncommitted visitors from the 2019 class. Besides Campbell and Newsome, here are the other seven Class of 2019 uncommitted recruits at junior day.

Three prospects are from 2020 or 2021. None hold star ratings in the 247Sports composite rankings.

Iowa holds three commitments in 2019. In-state offensive lineman Tyler Endres and Miller are 4-star 247Sports composite prospects. Illinois tight end Logan Lee holds a 3-star composite ranking and is considered a 4-star prospect in the 247Sports rankings.
A new member of the class is possible this weekend, but isn’t necessarily expected. Based on social media postings, the visitors are enjoying their trip.
