The perfect path
At first, Iowa Western Community College seemed like a detour for Daviyon Nixon. In the end, it was exactly where he needed to go to prepare himself to play defensive tackle at Iowa.
Next recruit up
Class of 2018 linebacker Ben VanSumeren flipped his commitment from Iowa to Michigan on Sunday. The move was expected as VanSumeren took an official visit with the Wolverines last week. The de-commitment ensures that linebacker is the Hawkeyes’ biggest remaining position of need in this recruiting class. Iowa would like to add two more linebackers before February.
Good news, bad news
First, the good news. The Iowa women’s basketball team improved to 11-1 with a 71-47 victory over Northern Iowa on Sunday. Now, the bad news. Tania Davis sustained a left knee injury. Jeff Linder of The (Cedar Rapids) Gazette recaps the game and reveals why the Hawkeyes are hoping for the best with Davis.
Just in time
The Iowa men’s basketball team was in dire need of a win Saturday. Land of 10 explains why its 90-64 win over Drake came when the Hawkeyes needed it most.
