Dane Belton is on his way to Iowa City, as the Class of 2019 prospect announced his commitment to Iowa football on Sunday evening.
The 6-foot-2, 189-pound Belton is a 3-star safety from Jesuit High School in Tampa, Fla. He pledged to Iowa via Twitter.

“With that being said, I would like to announce that I am committed to the University of Iowa,” Belton wrote on Twitter. “Thank you to Coach [Kirk] Ferentz, coach [Phil] Parker, coach [Derrick] Foster, as well as the whole coaching staff.”
Belton received 24 total offers, but ultimately set his sights on playing football at Iowa. Some of the other schools that extended scholarship offers were Pitt, Louisville, Rutgers, Indiana, Maryland and Minnesota.
According to 247Sports 2019 composite rankings, Belton is the No. 51-ranked safety in the Class of 2019, the No. 97-ranked prospect in Florida and the No. 696-ranked overall recruit.
With Belton’s commitment, Iowa’s Class of 2019 currently ranks No. 28 in the country and No. 9 in the Big Ten.
