In the span of two plays, there was a drastic change in Iowa City on Saturday night.
Iowa linebacker Josey Jewell picked off Penn State quarterback Trace McSorley and took it back to the Nittany Lions’ 21-yard line with 43 seconds left in the first half. Then, the Iowa offense finally showed up.
After stalling all first half, Iowa quarterback Nathan Stanley found wide receiver Nick Easley on the first play after Jewell’s pick for a 21-yard touchdown. It put Iowa ahead, 7-5, at halftime and breathed a lot of life into the crowd at Kinnick Stadium.
