Kirk Ferentz and his contract
In 2016, Iowa football coach Kirk Ferentz signed a contract extension paying him $4.5 million a year. If Ferentz is underpaid or overpaid is always a debate in these parts. HawkeyeNation.com’s David Schwartz explains why he thinks the contract looks better for the Hawkeyes with each passing day.

Former Iowa wrestler Thomas Gilman lost to Azerbaijan’s Giorgi Edisherashvili 8-7 on Sunday, but he did win gold on the American team in the Wrestling World Cup. A 2-1 win on Sunday gave Iowa baseball its second victory of the weekend over Ohio State. The Hawkeyes are 5-3 to start Big Ten play after facing arguably the top-3 teams in the league in Indiana, Illinois and Ohio State.
