Jackson was suspended for the bowl game because of an unspecified violation of team policy. Despite not having Jackson, though, the Hawkeyes went on to win the bowl game, 27-20.
The redshirt sophomore was a staple on Iowa’s offensive line in 2017, earning him a spot on the Big Ten’s All-Freshman team.
Jackson will be available to play in Iowa’s season opener on Sept. 1 against Northern Illinois at Kinnick Stadium.
