IOWA CITY, Iowa — There was no score at Iowa’s final spring practice, but fans at Kinnick Stadium continued The Wave tradition that captivated the country last fall.
My buddy Andy Damrow is at the UI children’s hospital with his 18-month-old nephew Lukas, who just had surgery. He and Lukas are watching the practice tonight and would like to see The Wave after the first offensive touchdown. @HawkeyeFootball pic.twitter.com/v0OrL23IQH

At the end of the first period of action, 9,300 fans scattered on Iowa’s west and south grandstands waved to the UI Children’s Hospital to show their support. The Wave instantly has become a tradition throughout the college football world, and it will continue perhaps as long as there is Iowa football.
So good to see The Wave for the first time in 2018. 👋@HawkeyeFootball fans waved to the patients at the @UIChildrens Hospital across from Kinnick Stadium during Friday's spring practice, continuing the tradition that began in 2017. pic.twitter.com/CNPE9LkBXQ
