One of Iowa basketball’s signees will be coming to Iowa City with a big high school record under his belt.
4-star signee Joe Wieskamp scored his 2,195th point to set the Iowa high school state scoring record before halftime of his game on Tuesday night.
It was already Wieskamp’s 31st point of the night. The 6-foot-4, 170-pound shooting guard averages 34.8 points per game.
Here’s the video of him doing it from the free throw line:

Wieskamp committed to the Hawkeyes at the end of 2017 and is the highest-rated recruit for the team in a long time.
He will immediately help the team, which is struggling in 2018 with a 12-13 record as of early Tuesday night.
