Fran McCaffery was ablaze after a few calls went against his Iowa Hawkeyes during their game Sunday night against Maryland, and refs quickly ejected him from the game.
McCaffery’s anger first boiled over when Maryland guard Anthony Cowan appeared to hit Cordell Pemsl in the back of the neck with his elbow. Pemsl went back down the court holding his neck in pain, but there was no call. Then, Iowa guard Jordan Bohannon received some contact before getting called for a travel.
McCaffery yelled at officials and drew a quick technical with 45 seconds remaining in the first half. He didn’t let up and stayed on the court, and the referee wasn’t afraid to give him the second T. McCaffery stayed to argue and get an explanation from the officials, then left in a huff.

Iowa assistants Sherman Dillard, Andrew Francis and Kirk Speraw took charge with Maryland up 48-44 at the half.
His son Connor chimed in:
There is no way he should’ve gotten tossed for that. Wanted one. No way the second one was necessary.. not even close
