STATE COLLEGE, Penn. — Iowa travels to face No. 12 Penn State at 7:30 p.m. ET Saturday.
The Hawkeyes (5-3, 3-2 Big Ten) are coming off a bye week, but played tenth-ranked Wisconsin close the previous week in a 17-9 loss. They’ve had an issue with consistency on offense; a week after posting over 500 yards against Purdue, they failed to reach 300 yards against Wisconsin. That’s the third time this year they’ve missed that mark.
The Nittany Lions (6-2, 4-1) are the fastest-rising team in the Big Ten. An upset over then third-ranked Ohio State, followed by a blowout against Purdue, propelled Penn State all the way to No. 12 in the initial College Football Playoff poll.
