It seems that former Iowa TE Henry Krieger-Coble is on the nice list this holiday season.
On Friday, the Denver Broncos elevated Krieger-Coble from their practice squad to the active roster, meaning he’ll be on the field this coming Sunday when Denver takes on the Kansas City Chiefs.
Making room for Krieger-Coble, the Broncos cut QB Austin Davis.

After playing in 46 in his four-year career at Iowa, Krieger-Coble went undrafted in this year’s NFL draft. That was despite a senior season which was by far his most productive — 35 catches for 405 yards and a touchdown. Denver signed him as a free agent after the draft, and Krieger-Coble began his career on the Broncos’ practice squad.
Denver tight ends Virgil Green and A.J. Derby are both in the league’s concussion protocol and have been ruled out of the game Sunday. CBS Sports’ Zack Kelberman reported Friday night that Krieger-Coble is expected to start.
