Chasing a Super Bowl ring

When the weekend started, five former Iowa players were on teams still with a chance to win an NFL title. Here is a quick recap of how everyone fared and more importantly which players are heading to the league championships.

  • The Atlanta Falcons and defensive lineman Adrian Clayborn lost to the Philadelphia Eagles 15-10 on Saturday. Clayborn made 1 tackle.
  • Offensive lineman Cole Croston and the New England Patriots man-handled defensive lineman Karl Klug and the Tennessee Titans 35-14 on Saturday. Klug didn’t record a stat, and Croston was inactive for the contest.
  • Offensive lineman Riley Reiff and defensive tackle Jaleel Johnson were part of a Minnesota Vikings win for the ages. The Vikings beat New Orleans thanks to a 61-yard game game-winning touchdown as time expired Sunday.

A big pin

No. 7 Iowa wrestling beat No. 3 Oklahoma State 20-12 in a dual meet Sunday. Land of 10 has the recap of the match, including three big wins in matchups of ranked opponents from Spencer Lee, Alex Marinelli and Sam Stoll.

Speak softly, carry big stick
