With the college football season about three months away, analysts are selecting their breakout candidates from across the country. Even though Iowa RB Akrum Wadley and Michigan DT Maurice Hurst Jr. weren’t listed as starters last season, ESPN’s Todd McShay has them at the top of his list.

Wadley rushed for 1,081 yards (6.43 per carry) for the Hawkeyes as a junior, along with racking up 10 touchdowns on the ground. He also amassed 315 yards and 3 scores through the air.
On the flip side of the ball, Hurst compiled 33 total tackles for the Wolverines, including 11.5 TFLs and 5 sacks.
