On Friday night, as the Iowa Hawkeyes men’s basketball team was playing Colorado, something extraordinary happened.
As Big Ten Network’s Twitter account put it, it’s something you’ve probably never seen before. Colorado was on the free-throw line attempting a foul shot, and the shooter missed the shot.
The ball was tipped out toward Colorado’s bench, and in front of the team’s bench was a stray water bottle. One of the team’s assistant coaches, Kim English, went to pick up the water bottle and clear the area so nobody potentially would slip and get hurt.
Of course, the ball flew toward English at that moment, hitting him in the face on the court while play was going on, and the incident resulted in English receiving a technical foul.
Take a look:
If you say you've ever seen anything like this before, you're probably lying. 😅

Talk about bad timing.
Iowa would go on to miss the awarded free-throw attempt.
