Iowa quarterback C.J. Beathard will showcase his abilities for scouts Jan. 30 at the Senior Bowl, the game announced Monday.

The Senior Bowl and the practices leading up to it are one of the top opportunities for college players to demonstrate their skills for NFL teams.
Beathard is the third Hawkeye and sixth Big Ten player to accept Senior Bowl invites. Others include his teammates Desmond King and Jaleel Johnson, plus Wisconsin’s Vince Biegel, Indiana’s Dan Feeney and Nebraska’s Nate Gerry.
In four years at Iowa, Beathard has completed 58.9 percent of his passes for 5,507 yards and 40 touchdowns. So far this season, he has thrown for 1,874 yards and 17 touchdowns.
According to CBS Sports, Beathard is the No. 9 quarterback in the 2017 draft class and currently stands to be selected in the fourth or fifth round.
The Senior Bowl will take place Jan. 30 in Mobile, Ala.
