Tyler Linderbaum, a 3-star defensive lineman, is staying in his home state.
The defensive tackle from Solon, Iowa, announced on Monday that he has committed to the Iowa Hawkeyes.
“I am very excited to announce that I’ve decided to further my education and athletic career at the University of Iowa, Go Hawks!” Linderbaum wrote on Twitter.

The 6-foot-2, 255-pound recruit is part of the 2018 class. The 247 Sports Composite ranks Linderbaum as the state’s No. 5 recruit for 2018. Nationally, Linderbaum is No. 73 as a defensive tackle.
The Hawkeyes beat out rival Iowa State to get Linderbaum’s commitment. Minnesota also had offered the defensive tackle.
Linderbaum is the Hawkeyes’ fifth commitment for 2018. He joins OLB Dillon Doyle, RB Tyrone Tracy, RB Henry Geil and OG Jeffrey Jenkins, all of whom are 3-star recruits.
