Coaching changes can bring uncertainty in recruiting, and that uncertainty’s already hitting home for Indiana following the program’s decision to fire head coach Tom Crean last week.
Al Durham and Clifton Moore, both of whom signed with the Hoosiers in November, have asked for releases from their National Letter of Intent, according to multiple reports. Rivals.com’s Corey Evans was first to report the news on Durham.

Durham then confirmed the news in his own tweet, but then quickly deleted it. Moore’s AAU coach told multiple outlets his player had asked for a release.

Durham’s AAU team, the Southern Stampede, also confirmed reports in a tweet.

Durham’s father says his son isn’t ruling out recommitting to Indiana, but won’t decide until a new coach comes aboard.
“Indiana is still an option,” his father told Inside the Hall‘s Alex Bozich. “The new coach would have to recruit him.”
Durham is a 3-star point guard prospect according to the 247Sports Composite, which rates the Lilburn (Ga). Berkmar High star as the No. 50 player at his position and No. 18 player in his state in the Class of 2017. The Composite has Moore (Horsham, Pa.) as the No. 33 power forward and No. 7 player in Pennsylvania for 2017. Nothing’s been reported yet on 4-star forward Justin Smith, Indiana’s only other commit in the class.
