Smith, an ESPN 100 prospect who played his AAU basketball with Mac Irvin Fire, took official visits at each school earlier in the month.
He becomes Indiana’s second commitment in the Class of 2017, joining 3-star guard Aljami Durham.
Indiana appeared the favorite once Smith narrowed his list, considering Villanova already had a commitment in the class — Jermaine Samuels — similar to Smith.
Smith’s final four included Xavier and Stanford.
