Indiana took a big step on its quest for bowl eligibility Saturday, beating Maryland 42-36 at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington.
The Hoosiers (4-4, 2-3 Big Ten) piled up 414 rushing yards in the win, led by RB Devine Redding’s 130 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries. Fellow RB Tyler Natee (18 carries, 111 yards, 1 TD) and QB Zander Diamont (11 carries, 104 yards, 2 TDs) gave Indiana three players to eclipse the 100-yard rushing mark.
Indiana is now two wins away from qualifying for a bowl. The Hoosiers have four games left, including an extremely winnable contest next week at Rutgers. Win that and they need one more win in the final three games against Penn State, at Michigan and against Purdue at home to close out the regular season.
