With basketball season just a few months away, Indiana basketball and coach Tom Crean got some good news Wednesday.
The Hoosiers have made the cut in the final four schools for ESPN Top 100 recruit Justin Smith, a 2017 forward, according to ESPN’s Jeff Borzello.

Smith, listed at 6-foot-7, 215 pounds, hails from Buffalo Grove, Ill., and played his AAU basketball for the revered Mac Irvin Fire program.
Smith previously announced his final seven schools in a tweet on Aug. 1. Big Ten schools Michigan, Wisconsin and Illinois were part of that group, but did not make Smith’s final four.
The Hoosiers currently have one commitment for the class of 2017, 6-foot-4 guard Al Durham.
