Roof, who played in all 11 games with Georgia Tech in the 2017 season as a true freshman, is enrolled at Indiana for the 2018 spring semester. He will begin practicing with the Hoosiers in the spring.
The 5-foot-11, 215-pound linebacker from Buford High School in Buford, Ga. has three years of eligibility remaining beginning in the fall of 2019, according to the news release. Due to his transfer, he will redshirt in the 2018 season.
In his 11 games in 2017, Roof recorded 17 tackles and 2 sacks.
“T.D. Roof is a young man that we recruited heavily in the previous recruiting cycle,” Indiana coach Tom Allen said in the release. “We are thrilled to have him join us as a transfer from Georgia Tech. We’re really excited about what he will bring to our linebacking corps and ultimately to our football program.”
